Details: My client is a global technology-based company that offers a broad range of instrumentation, consumable products, and technical expertise in the areas of medicinal and analytical chemistry. Customers include research scientists at pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and scientists at major academic and government life science research centers. We are seeking a Sample Prep Applications Specialist that will perform applications development and provide applications support to our North American customers. This position is anticipated to require up to 50% travel and is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The position will report to our Senior Applications Chemist. JOB OVERVIEW Respond to customer requests for sample prep application advice through appropriate means, ie, phone, email, face-to-face visits, etc. Work with customers to develop successful sample preparation applications using Biotage products through lab-work, advice, published references, industry organizations, and other forms of science-based communication. Focus will be on the clinical, forensic and food safety markets. Support account managers throughout North and South America, and provide technical back-up as necessary. Identify, submit, and develop applications in conjunction with the applications development program that are based on customer requirements. Identify potential new collaboration partners and liaise with existing collaboration partner labs to develop new applications/products in accounts throughout North America. Attend scientific meetings/customer sites as appropriate to present posters and oral presentations and develop/maintain a high level of sample prep knowledge . Maintain awareness of competitor products and provide feedback to the applications team by interacting with customers, attending conferences, and other scientific venues.
