R&D is committed to leveraging the latest technology to bring consumers the high-quality, innovative products they expect and deserve. Position Description:The Clorox Company has opportunities at our Research and Development center in Pleasanton, California for a scientist or engineer, with an advanced degree, to focus on product concept and prototype development. Working at the front end of innovation the role will focus on translating new concepts, ideas, solutions, benefits and technologies into protocepts and prototypes. Using iterative and incremental approaches the successful candidate will further develop these prototypes to enable business assessments, small scale consumer testing and manufacturability assessments.  They will work cross-functionally with various discovery teams and interface their R&D work with the business and consumer elements of the project to ensure a holistic approach.  They will reach out to both internal and external technical experts/suppliers to both identify and evolve their protocepts and prototypes and to build future capabilities.  The successful candidate will need to have the ability to rapidly identify key ‘killer technical issues’ at each stage of a project, be able to integrate multiple work streams efficiently, and have the agility and focus necessary to move projects forward with only the essential required resources. The individual will need to have a broad as well as deep technical background and be to handle a diverse range of projects.  Proven creative thinking and ability to work with limited data and direction is a must. Candidates will have a talent for analyzing problems from multiple points of view and connecting disparate ideas to create innovative solutions and concepts.  Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations, be proven self starters and be passionate and committed to world-class product and technology development. Qualified candidates will be technically advanced and highly motivated and be able to apply their skills to diverse, challenging problems in a fast-paced team environment.  They must be comfortable contributing to projects that span a wide variety of consumer and professional product applications in a fast-paced business environment with rapidly changing needs and priorities. They will be expected to communicate and collaborate with colleagues in a variety of diverse disciplines and functions to deliver business-building solutions.
