Details: Job Classification: Contract Aerotek is currently recruiting for a 3rd Shift (Graveyard) Composite/Chemistry Technician to work at a large manufacturer of aerospace materials. Candidates should have at least 1-3 years of experience working with composites, resins or pre-preg materials and/or basic chemistry knowledge in an academic or industrial environment.•Associates in Chemistry or related science preferred along with previous chemistry laboratory experience.•Shift Requirements: 3rd Shift/Graveyard - 10PM - 6AM / training will be conducted during the 1st shift - 7AM-4PM and flexibility to over-time is ideal.•Candidates must be local and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test/physical per client specific requirements.• General laboratory work with composites, resins, silicons and various chemicals.• Previous experience working with composites, lay-ups, pre-peg materials required.Responsibilities:-The fabrication of mechanical test specimens, mechanical testing; failure analysis. -Tensile, flex compression fabrication & testing, analysis of results, and failure mode analysis. -Experience with composites, carbon fiber, plastics & epoxy adhesives as well as resins. -Sitting down and having daily meetings with Scientists, Chemists, Engineers as well as Management. -Writing of Standard of Procedures. -General Laboratory work. -Some familiarity with 6-sigma quality techniques.Additional Skills:- A self-starter, positive attitude and takes initiative in solving work related problems- Perform all tasks in a neat and organized, good quality and safe manner - Training on the operation of the area of the lab where he would be assigned to work, meet safety and quality requirements.
